Cubs Suck

CubsSuck.com is a loud, proud, and sarcastic home base for every baseball fan who loves to hate the Chicago Cubs.

What it Is?

CubsSuck.com is my long-running internet playground for poking fun at the Chicago Cubs. Originally launched in 2005 as CubsSuckClub.com, it started as a joke that grew into a full-on content and merch machine. I’m a diehard Cardinals fan, and after going to college in Chicago, the Cubs became the obvious rival — and back then, they were lovable losers, which made it too easy.

The site was always a traffic play. We published jokes, memes, rants, and viral Cubs hate. It blew up after one of our jokes landed on Deadspin and never looked back. We sold tens of thousands of dollars in “L Flags” — even made the Washington Post and showed up in playoff games. We called it “Cubs Suckcessories.” Adsense revenue rolled in, too, especially when the Cubs were winning (because it’s way more fun to troll when they’re good).

After a few quiet years, I’m bringing it back under the new CubsSuck.com domain. The community is still there — a big Facebook following, a strong email list, and a lot of great memories. Now in 2025, it’s getting a fresh spin with the same sarcastic Cardinals-fan edge it always had.

Why I Built It

Honestly? I built it to troll my Cubs fan friends. That’s it. I was a Cardinals fan living in Chicago — surrounded by diehard Cubs fans — and needed an outlet. CubsSuckClub.com was never meant to be a business. It was just a funny idea that let me throw shade and share jokes online.

But then it accidentally got big.

One of my jokes went viral on Deadspin. Traffic exploded. People started sharing it, laughing, sending in stories, and asking for merch. So I leaned in. With my background in websites and monetization, I turned it into a fun little digital side hustle. Adsense started paying. L Flags started flying. What started as a way to annoy a few Cubs fans turned into a mini-movement.

And now? I’m still laughing. Still trolling. And still seeing the power of a simple idea done at the right time with a little hustle behind it.

HistoryOfCardinals.com
Cubs Suck wouldn’t exist without my love for the St. Louis Cardinals — and this site, run by my dad, is all about that. HistoryOfCardinals.com is a deep dive into Cardinal history, stats, and stories. It’s a natural counterpoint to the trolling and memes on CubsSuck, giving fans a place to actually celebrate the Redbirds.

Knup Sports
While CubsSuck is for fun, Knup Sports is my serious sports media brand. That site covers all sports and includes analysis, picks, and industry coverage. I sometimes link back and forth between the two, especially during Cubs/Cardinals matchups or big MLB moments. It’s all part of the Knup sports content network.

Coded Content
Some of the fresh blog posts and landing pages on CubsSuck are powered by my AI content tool, Coded Content. This helps keep the site active even when I’m not writing every post myself. It also lets me test SEO strategies for sports niches — including troll sites like this one.

Knup Domains
I acquired the CubsSuck.com domain in 2024 as part of my portfolio over at Knup Domains. It was a great upgrade from CubsSuckClub.com and gave the brand a cleaner, more direct identity. Like many of my other projects, this one came back to life after a smart domain acquisition and some fresh design.

Final Thoughts

CubsSuck.com started as a joke. A fun way to poke at my friends, rep the Cardinals, and let off some steam during Cubs playoff runs. But like many things I’ve built, it turned into something more. It got traffic. It made money. It became a brand.

I’ve let it sit idle the past few years, but now I’m bringing it back with new life. A cleaner domain, fresh content, and plans to re-engage the massive audience that once made this thing go viral. It’s part troll site, part traffic play, part digital legacy. Just like most of my ventures — it’s fun, but it also has purpose behind it. And when the Cubs win or lose… the L flag will still fly.
