What it Was?
Knup Solutions was my sports and iGaming content agency, founded in 2007. We wrote editorials, player props, social media content, and more. By 2023, we had 95+ writers, writing over 150+ articles per day.
In 2023, Knup Solutions acquired Coded Content and started developing out an AI powered, data driven, sports content creation engine. In 2025, all of Knup Solutions work had been migrated over to use the Coded Content product, effectively retiring the content agency business model.

Why I Built It
I landed a corporate job at Caterpillar right out of college in 2001. A stable 9-to-5. The kind of job you were supposed to want. But from the first day, I was bored out of my mind. I needed something more. Something I could build.
In 2002, I stumbled across gambling forums online. That turned into a hobby of sports betting, and soon after, I noticed a trend: people were launching sports and casino websites and making real money. I saw them all doing one thing — publishing content. And then Google Adsense came along. Something clicked.
I wasn’t a writer. But I loved sports. I was educated. I could put together a 500-word article if someone needed it. So I started taking on small content gigs for gambling affiliates. $5 an article, nights and weekends, after work. I’d grind them out for site owners on forums like Poker Affiliate Listings — shout out to Jeremy Enke. Over time, I became the go-to content guy in that world. They kept asking for more. And I kept delivering.
Fast forward to 2015. Caterpillar announced layoffs. Most people were stressed. I saw opportunity. They offered a full year of severance for those willing to leave voluntarily. At that point, my side hustle was making nearly as much as my day job. I talked to my wife, made the call, and walked away from corporate life.
That’s when Knup Solutions became real. I went full time. Reached out to my network. Every client said, “We’ve got more work.” I couldn’t keep up solo. So I hired my brother to help. Then more writers. Then editors. Then automation. What started as side gigs in a cubicle turned into a real business that paid the bills and then some.
Knup Solutions was never about being a fancy agency. It was about solving a need — giving site owners consistent, reliable sports and iGaming content. And building a system that didn’t need fluff to grow. It’s the venture that set the tone for everything I’ve built since.
What I Learned
- Scaling an agency isn’t easy — more people usually means more problems, not more peace.
- Client work is not passive — you’ve got to deliver, day after day. No automation can replace that responsibility.
- Margins matter — your profit lives between what a client pays and what it costs you to get the job done. Keep that gap healthy.
- The worst clients often pay the least — 90% of headaches come from the 10% you probably shouldn’t have taken on in the first place.
- Giving away free work isn’t always bad — it got my foot in the door, but I learned to set boundaries and value my time.
- Cash flow is a rollercoaster — when the money’s good, save it. The dry spells always come, and they don’t warn you.
- Quality control gets harder at scale — training, systems, and editors became essential once I wasn’t the only one writing.
- Relationships drive everything — most growth came from referrals and repeat business, not cold outreach or flashy marketing.
- Good people make all the difference — when I found reliable, smart, honest teammates (especially family), everything got easier. The work got better. The stress got lighter. And the business became fun again.
- Hire slow, trust fast (if earned), and treat them right — if you find people you want to work with, do what it takes to keep them. Pay fair. Communicate clearly. Let them grow with you. The agency worked because I didn’t try to do it all alone.
- AI changed the game — staying ahead of tools and trends (like Coded Content) helped us evolve and not get left behind.
- I’m not built for “agency life” forever — this taught me I’m better at building systems than managing people.
The Archives

Where it Went
In 2024, I transitioned most of the agency’s operations under a new product brand — Coded Content. That move allowed us to shift focus toward scalable, AI-powered content systems for sports and betting sites.
While Knup Solutions as an agency was retired fully in 2025, the services didn’t disappear. Today, we still offer human-written content here at Knup.com — now in partnership with my brother Rodney & other legit writers, who still enjoys writing and working with clients one-on-one. Whether it’s AI content or human-created, the mission is still the same: help digital businesses publish great content faster.
Final Thoughts
Knup Solutions was the thing that changed everything for me. It turned a side hustle into a full-time business, gave me freedom from corporate life, and taught me how to build something from scratch. It wasn’t always smooth, but it shaped how I approach every venture now.
I’m proud of what we built — and even more excited about where it led. On to the next.
