Same Tampa Saturday as lunch at McAlister's — that night we took Drew, McKinney, Alyssa, Sarah, and me to Texas Roadhouse in Brandon. This is roughly the fifteenth year in a row we have celebrated Drew's birthday at Texas Roadhouse. It is not a review every year, but it is absolutely a tradition — and this one was a five-star family night.
Food: 9.6. Peanuts on the table while you wait. Plenty of warm rolls and cinnamon butter. I had steak and chicken tenders with a baked potato and salad — classic Roadhouse plates done right. Everybody at the table loved their food. No one left wondering why we keep doing this every August.
Service: 9.3. Waitress was solid — refills showed up fast. A couple order mistakes happened; she fixed them the right way: let us keep the food and took it off the bill. That is the recovery move that keeps a 5-star night from turning into a complaint. Small ding on the errors, big credit on how she handled them.
Atmosphere: 9.5. Texas Roadhouse is Texas Roadhouse — loud in a good way, boots-and-steakhouse energy, birthday-table chaos. Prices land about where you expect for a chain steakhouse. Always works for a group celebration.
Knup 9.5 / 10. Not trying to be fancy — trying to be the birthday dinner that still hits fifteen years later. We will be back next year.

Dinner · Drew’s birthday · Tampa move-day trip. Party of 5: Ryan, Sarah, Drew, McKinney (girlfriend), Alyssa. ~15th straight birthday here. Ryan: steak + chicken tenders, baked potato, salad. Order mix-ups fixed well (food kept, comped). Peanuts + rolls.
