Sarah and I hit Huey Magoo's on Narcoossee in the Lake Nona pocket for a quick dinner — we were meeting my son and his girlfriend as they passed through on the way back from a wedding. Nobody wanted a long sit-down. We wanted chicken. That part of the night delivered. The rest did not.
Food: 9.4. This is why Huey Magoo's is on the map. Grilled chicken and chicken tenders were excellent — everyone at the table liked what they ordered, and the chicken quality is legitimately high for a fast-casual counter. Fries, sides, and bread were fine, nothing special. The drinks helped carry it: the watermelon tea / watermelon lemonade was really good — one of the better parts of the meal, and part of why the food side still scored so high.
Service: 4.0. Rough night. Drinks were not included with the meal (I could have read that closer, but it still felt like a bad surprise). Sauces came out stingy when the food landed. The bigger issue: they brought the wrong things and screwed up the order more than once. For a chicken-tender shop built on speed, that is a lot of friction on a simple dinner.
Atmosphere: 7.6. Standard Huey Magoo's — bright, casual, fine for a quick meet-up. Not a destination dining room, and it does not pretend to be one. Perfect for "we have thirty minutes and we want tenders."
Knup 6.9 / 10. The chicken (and those watermelon drinks) almost save it. Service dragged a strong food stop into mixed territory. We would go back for the chicken — we would also order carefully, double-check the bag, and not expect hospitality to match the tenders.
