Thursday, October 15 — a Magic Kingdom resort loop built for remote work, not rope drop. Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, a little park time on a Halloween-party day, and another lunch at Contempo Café. Full seat notes feed the Disney remote-work guide.
Parked at the Magic Kingdom lot / TTC and walked toward the Polynesian instead of waiting on a tram. On an explore day, the walk wins — steps, noticing things, no sit-and-wait. Tram still makes sense when you are tired or in a hurry.
Polynesian. Lobby (both levels) felt busy and loud — not where I wanted to camp a laptop. Outdoor picnic tables near the pineapple stand and along the paths looked real for cooler weather; today was too hot and still to try. Navigation tip: when you get turned around, follow monorail signs — the station dumps you into the main lobby. Passed Wailulu Bar & Grill around 10:42 — Hawaiian music, no TVs, relaxed vibe. Future food stop, not a laptop office.
Walked on to Grand Floridian. Immediate upgrade. Huge atrium, high ceilings, grand piano (nobody playing), real AC, and tables with chairs around the lobby perimeter. That perimeter table is the find — focused writing and laptop work without the family scramble of a park QS. Lobby bar area looked useful too (closed while I was there). Would not pick it first for a private video call. Did not hunt hard for quick lunch; had a meeting later and moved on.
Monorail to Contemporary. Grabbed Contempo Café to-go: spicy chicken sandwich and fries. Thick chicken, real heat, pickles that worked, fries still good — slightly better than yesterday’s roast beef sub. Two days, two wins. Then the workspace discovery: high-tops tucked near Outer Rim while the bar was still closed — lake windows, sports TVs, quiet enough to concentrate, sheltered from Chef Mickey’s / Contempo chaos. Around 1:30 Outer Rim opened and the corner flipped into bar energy. Sweet spot is before open; after that, order something or move.
Walked Contemporary → Magic Kingdom. Path goes through a parking approach and has its own metal-detector / bag check — not the main TTC funnel. Inside, the park felt substantially quieter than the day before; Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that night is my best guess why. Still soaked from the heat. Half-lap for fun: Main Street Philharmonic, AC break at Pecos Bill with a Red Bull (no food review), parade tail with Mickey and Minnie on the way out. Home.
Knup 8.4 / 10. The day did what it was for — two excellent indoor resort offices (Grand Floridian lobby + Outer Rim-before-open), a repeat Contempo lunch, walking routes logged, and a bonus quiet MK stroll. Heat still owns outdoor tables. Polynesian indoors stays a miss until I find a better corner.

The day in bullets
- Parked at Magic Kingdom / TTC and walked toward Polynesian instead of defaulting to the tram.
- Polynesian lobby: busy/loud, not a focused laptop office. Outdoor picnic tables look promising when it is cooler. Wailulu Bar & Grill looked like a future food stop.
- Walked Polynesian → Grand Floridian. Lobby tables around the perimeter = excellent focused work — cool, spacious, piano atrium energy. Not my first pick for private calls.
- Monorail Grand Floridian → Contemporary. Budget +3–5 min when carrying laptop / mics / batteries through screening.
- Contempo Café to-go: spicy chicken sandwich + fries — better than yesterday’s roast beef sub. Knup 7.8 overall after two visits.
- Best Contemporary indoor find: high-tops near Outer Rim before ~1:30 open — lake views, sports TVs, quiet corner. After open it becomes a bar.
- Walked Contemporary → Magic Kingdom (own security checkpoint through the parking approach). Halloween party day = much lighter daytime crowds; still brutally hot.
- Bonus MK: Main Street Philharmonic, Pecos Bill AC cool-down (no food), caught parade tail with Mickey & Minnie on the way out.
