The pass is about to do a second job. I am going to keep showing up in epic places, and I might as well work from them — go live, talk to people, build a following from the spot instead of from a desk. Monday was the first scout: Hollywood Studios, just me, no rides. Knup 7.4 for the afternoon.
I walked the park twice. It is the small one, which helps when the point is “where can I sit,” not “what can I ride.” I was looking at it as an office: indoor air, solo food, something to drink that is not a beer. I do not drink alcohol. Warm afternoon, and I wanted a chair in the AC.
Indoor seats are thin. A diner or two, and not much else I would actually open a laptop in. On a cool day the outdoor tables would be easy. On a hot one, this park is a tough office. I still do not have a second indoor spot I trust.
I did not bring drinks. I did not know the bag rules yet. I do now: outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, including a small cooler, as long as it is not glass and not alcohol. Energy drinks and non-alcoholic beer are the plan. Next visit the backpack cooler is packed. This time I bought a Monster from a shop in the park and kept walking.
The find was Backlot Express in Echo Lake. Tons of seating, a self-serve refill station, and — from what I could see — tea and lemonade. That is an Arnold Palmer station. Order one drink, sit for a few hours, keep refilling. I did not do that today. I found a shaded table outside, it was not too hot, and I worked for about two hours. Disney guest Wi-Fi connected immediately. Vibe coding ran with no issues. That part of the scout worked.
I was hungry after. Jacob Gay saw a post on X and asked if I had tried the Ronto Wrap — breakfast version, he said. I did not know the thing existed. I looped back through Star Wars and found Ronto Roasters. They had breakfast and lunch. I was in a lunch mood, so I got the lunch wrap: pita, a bigger sausage, slaw, sauce. Really tasty. Knup 7.0. I will get it again, and I still want the breakfast one.
About three hours, then I left. Not a lot happening, and I had the answer I came for. Hollywood Studios can host a work block if you take the shade and bring your own drinks. It is not an indoor office on a warm Monday. Next time I will know the seats, pack the cooler, and try that Backlot Arnold Palmer session for real.
