White Sox Dominate Early

Chicago set the tone early, putting up two runs in the first inning. The Rockies managed a glimmer of hope with a solo run in the second inning. Yet, that was all they could muster as the White Sox pitching staff stifled any further offensive output.

Sean Burke took charge on the mound for the White Sox, delivering a strong performance with 5.33 innings pitched, allowing just one run on four hits. Burke's tenacity and precision pitching improved his season record to 10-7, boasting an ERA of 3.40.

Tomoyuki Sugano of the Rockies faced a rough outing, struggling through 6.67 innings where he allowed four runs on six hits, including two homers. This result marked his 11th loss of the season, bringing his ERA to 5.36.

Murakami's Power Surge

Munetaka Murakami was the offensive spark for the White Sox, recording three hits in four at-bats. His powerful swing accounted for two homers, driving in three runs and highlighting Chicago's offensive prowess.

On the mound, the Rockies' bullpen struggled to contain Chicago's late-inning rally, with Jhonathan Mejia allowing two additional runs in his brief appearance. Despite their efforts, the Rockies were unable to prevent the White Sox from extending their lead in the eighth inning.

The White Sox bullpen, however, stood resilient with stellar performances. Garrett Taylor and Bryan Hudson were flawless in relief, combining for three scoreless innings to close out the game. Taylor's two innings of work included three strikeouts, while Hudson sealed the deal in the final inning.
